Sarah Hohler has been Deputy Cabinet Member for Community Services at Kent County Council, having previously served as a senior Cabinet Member under the leadership of both Paul Carter and Lord Sandy Bruce-Lockhart.
Sarah was born and brought up in Kent and read PPE at Oxford. She has lived on a farm in Stansted for over 30 years. Her husband was in the Foreign Office so they lived in Ghana, Hong Kong, New York and Brussels where Sarah worked in schools and publishing, for the British Council, and has taught and run a nursery school.
Sarah has four daughters all of whom attended the local primary school and the two younger ones were at grammar school.
Sarah joined the County Council in 1989 and has been cabinet member for Strategic Planning, Communities and Education. She was also Sandy Bruce-Lockhart’s deputy leader. She now serves on the scrutiny committee, is a school governor and on the board of Kent Music.
She enjoys travel, gardening, cooking, reading, and her family,as well as representing Stansted, Fairseat, Trottiscliffe, Addington, Ryarsh, Birling, Offham, Leybourne and Snodland on the County Council.
