Nicolas Heslop is the new Leader of Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council succeeding Mark Worrall who died suddenly at the end of April.
A father-of-four, Nicolas has served on the council since 1998, representing Cage Green ward. He held the portfolios for housing, community development and planning and transportation under Mark Worrall.
On his election as Leader, Nicolas commented: “I am delighted to be elected as the council’s new leader; however it is also with sadness that I accept this position following the recent death of my predecessor, Mark Worrall.
“It will be difficult to fill the shoes of such a committed and inspirational leader. Mark placed great emphasis on ensuring that the council provides the highest quality services and value for money for residents. I am committed to the same values."
