Major Committee positions in Paul Carter's new KCC administration have gone to Tonbridge, Edenbridge & Malling Councillors following the county-topping election success the constituency enjoyed which returned 6 of our 7 candidates to County Hall.
With representation on powerful Cabinet Committees, Tonbridge, Edenbridge & Malling members will continue to influence and shape KCC policy, playing a vital role in delivering the new admistration's policies as it strives for local residents and businesses.
Recently announced positions include:
- Valerie Dagger's membership of both the Social Care Cabinet Committee and the Regulation Committee;
- Sarah Hohler taking on the Chairmanship of the Communities Cabinet Committee and membership of both the Environment, Highways & Waste Cabinet Committee and the Scrutiny Committee;
- Richard Long being re-appointed as Chairman of Governance & Audit;
- New member Clive Pearman taking on membership of the Communities and Education Cabinet Committees, together with the Standards and Health Overview & Scrutiny Committees;
- Chris Smith becoming Chairman of the Social Care & Public Health Cabinet Committee as well as taking up membership of the Planning Applications Committee; and
- Matthew Balfour who sits on the Planning Applications Committee together with the Economic Development, Education and Environment, Highways & Waste Committees.
As reported previously, both Matthew Balfour and Chris Smith have also taken up key Deputy Cabinet positions.
