Heavyweight political speakers appeared in important Association events at Tonbridge and King's Hill this weekend providing a double whammy of European and national politics.
At the Rose & Crown in Tonbridge, MEPs Richard Ashworth and Nirj Deva were joined by Kent Area Chairman, former MEP and author of "The Conservative Party and Europe" Ben Patterson for Castle Branch's excellent European evening, taking questions for an hour after supper from an informed and knowledgable audience. This was followed the next day by a morning coffee gathering with Dan Hannan also at the Rose & Crown.
It was then off to King's Hill for curry with rising star and Government heavy hitter Greg Clark. Over lunch with local residents, Greg reinforced the importance of the County elections on 2nd May and the need for a strong Conservative administration as he launched the new branch.
With the County campaign in full swing, both events provided a further boost to local activity and renewed efforts as we enter the final, vital rounds of the contest for County Hall.
